Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from that period of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my children at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted some to question if his capacity to play at the top level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved service.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players exchanged breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to create a third set.

The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
